Sharon Baker is an outstanding Union Delegate whose commitment, leadership and selfless dedication have had a significant impact on USU members at NIB.
Throughout the 2024–2027 Enterprise Agreement campaign, Sharon played a pivotal role in planning, implementing and driving the campaign from commencement through to a successful outcome. She worked tirelessly alongside fellow delegates to ensure members were informed, engaged and empowered throughout bargaining. Sharon has been instrumental in representing members across a broad range of workplace disputes and individual matters, consistently advocating with integrity, professionalism and compassion. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership when dealing with management, ensuring members’ voices were heard and respected while promoting constructive industrial relations.
Sharon leads by example with boundless energy, unwavering principles and a genuine commitment to improving the working lives of others. Sharon inspires confidence, encourages participation and consistently places the interests of her fellow workers before her own.

Her efforts also contributed to the recruitment of more than 50 new USU members during the campaign, significantly increasing workplace density and strengthening the Union’s presence. A driving force behind the NIB Coffee Cup Campaign, Sharon helped establish effective workplace communication networks, activated members to participate in campaign activities and strengthened understanding of the power of collective action.
