USU Mortality Benefit Policy and Application Form.

Drug & Alcohol Policy.

This document is a draft document to be used as a resource for NSW councils who wish to implement an Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy and Procedure.

This Alcohol and other Drug Procedure has been developed by the USU, LGEA, depa and LGSA (‘the industry parties’) to be used as a resource by the Local Government Industry in NSW. The industry parties have committed to reviewing this Procedure in July 2013.

Drug & Alcohol Procedure.

Provides an agreed industry resource for New South Wales councils to assist in the development and implementation of alcohol and other drugs procedures in the workplace, in a consistent manner.

This policy was prepared by the Local Government and Shires Associations of New South Wales (LGSA); the New South Wales Local Government, Clerical, Administrative, Energy, Airlines and Utilities Union (USU); the Local Government Engineers Association (LGEA); and the Development and Environmental Professionals’ Association (depa).

Publication: Friend or Foe.

Drug and alcohol guide prepared by the United Services Union in 2010. Improve your health and habits or help a family member, friend or colleague.

The USU is a leading voice in Australia for protecting victims of domestic violence.

Domestic violence is a terrible scourge on our society, affecting large numbers of Australians, particularly women. The USU is committed to making workplaces safe and providing for appropriate workplace flexibilities to allow for those who suffer from domestic violence to access the help they need.

As part of negotiations for the Local Government (State) Award 2014, the USU secured a strong joint statement which sets a high standard for Councils in NSW who’s employees are confronted with this issue.

The statement is supported by Local Government New South Wales and all of the industry Unions.

This step marks a proud moment for the Local Government Industry in NSW and for the USU.
