My name is Amy Biggs. I am a Senior Legal Assistant with Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Canberra working in our medical law team.
I have been a union member for a number of years and recently decided to step into the role of union delegate because I feel strongly about fairness, respect and making sure people are supported and heard in the workplace.
I am particularly passionate about our support staff whose work is an essential part of achieving success for our clients, as well as general client wellbeing. I am dedicated to ensuring that they are recognised and rewarded for their important contributions and are given every opportunity to excel and advance in their positions.
As a delegate, I aim to be approachable, understanding, and reliable. I bring both my professional experience and my lived experiences to my advocacy, and I strive to be someone colleagues can trust—someone who will listen without judgement and work collaboratively to create meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to help build a workplace culture where everyone feels respected and where positive solutions are found through open dialogue and collective strength.
I look forward to supporting members, standing alongside them, and contributing to a workplace that reflects the values we all deserve.
