As we get closer to the bargaining period for the Jetstar, Virgin, and Qantaslink Group 1 enterprise agreements, it’s a good time to recap on how union members can get involved in their EA bargaining. The best enterprise agreements are negotiated by active and informed members, so check out a few of the ways members have their say below.

Developing your Log of Claims

Your Log of Claims (LOC) is a list of improvements or better conditions you would like to add to your enterprise agreement. For example, top of the agenda for most airlines members is the claim for a significant pay increase. LOC can be put together in many ways, but usually for larger workforces the process starts with member surveys to gather information and feedback from members on the types of changes and improvements they want to see for their pay, as well as workplace conditions such as leave entitlements.

Union meetings and information sessions

Throughout the bargaining process, your union delegates and bargaining representatives run union meetings and information sessions to keep you updated on the bargaining and get your feedback. Depending on your enterprise agreement, you may be entitled to attend these sessions during paid work time.
