Sharing insights: USU welcomes Korean delegation

On March 30 the USU welcomed a delegation from Seoul Facilities Corporation (SFC), a public institution under the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The delegation from the Seoul Facilities Corporation arranged this visit in order to gain a better understanding of the role and activities of the United Services Union in representing workers in the public service sector in Australia.

The Seoul Facilities Corporation is a municipal public enterprise under the Seoul Metropolitan Government, responsible for the management and operation of a wide range of large-scale public facilities, including transport infrastructure, sports facilities, and parks. Due to the nature of operating public facilities, establishing cooperative labor-management relations, ensuring occupational safety, and improving working conditions are critically important priorities.

Through this visit, the SFC hope to deepen their understanding and exchange experiences in the following areas:

• The role of labor unions and labor-management cooperation in the public service sector
• Labor union activities related to occupational safety and worker protection
• Labor-management collaboration strategies to improve the quality of public service

A greater understanding of how our comrades across the globe conduct workplace relations is important in an ever-changing world.
