In 2012 the State Government made a number of changes to workers compensation laws in New South Wales.

These changes disadvantaged injured workers across the state and the USU strongly opposed them.

One of the changes made capped the length of time that most people can receive compensation payments to 5 years. This means that at the end of this year nearly 6,000 injured workers will stop receiving any monetary compensation for injuries they suffered while at work.

What makes matters worse is that many of these people have been assessed as having no capacity to work, yet the State Government is still going to allow insurers to skip out on the bill.

Only the workers united can restore fairness and justice for injured workers, join the USU today and fight for a fairer system!
