The United Services Union received credible information that as many as 150 council workers at Liverpool City Council could lose their jobs under plans being considered by the Mayor.

The Union has asked the council to verify this information but we are yet to receive a response.

The Union is concerned with any plan that would see council workers lose their jobs, particularly in circumstances where a respected CEO was stood down only days ago.

We are looking into allegations about the behaviour of two individuals at a rally outside Liverpool City Council Chambers last week, and if necessary we will take action under our rules to address this behaviour.

The United Services Union does not condone racism, discrimination, or vilification of any type. We represent members of all faiths and beliefs and have done for 120 years and we will continue to do so.
