The September 2025 Trends in Enterprise Bargaining Report published by the Department of Workplace Relations shows that wages in union agreements rose 4.2% while non-union agreements only rose 3%.
Thats right, workers covered by union negotiated collective agreements get higher wage increases than those on agreements without unions.
Did you know that median weekly earnings for employees who were trade union members was $1600 compared with $1349 for employees who were not union members – that’s $13,052 more a year if you are a union member. Union members on average earn $251 per week more than non-union members (latest Australian Bureau of Statistics Data).
It pays to belong to the Union.
