On Friday 31st of October 2025, USU members from Scone, Merriwa and Murrurrundi came together at the Scone R.S.L club for the Upper Hunter Shire Council’s annual Union Picnic Day.
Organised by the social committee, the day started for some with a 7 am breakfast, while others chose to sleep in and catch up later. The group then split up, some to have a round of golf while others enjoyed a round of barefoot bowls.
Everyone then had lunch together, where there was a presentation of awards for the day’s sports activities, followed by some drinks before the day finished at 3pm.
It’s great to see the tradition of Union Picnic Day alive and well amongst the USU members of the Upper Hunter, and we hope it stays like that for many years to come.
