As you may have seen in communications sent out by Kelly Wood on March 2, the combined energy unions and Ausgrid are holding workshops that are scheduled to begin later this month.

We can confirm that there will be 2 workshops of 2 days each. These meetings are scheduled to take place:

• March 30 and 31 at Ourimbah; and
• April 13 and 14 at Roden Cutler House.

As you may be aware, as a result of recent changes to SoCI legislation, segments of our membership may be subject to background checks. The purpose of the workshops is to establish the frameworks around how such checks are to be conducted and which segments of the Ausgrid workforce will be subject to them.

Your union has been pleased with the levels of feedback provided to us in light of these developments and we urge you to keep providing us with your feedback via the email addresses shown below.

Please distribute this bulletin amongst your colleagues and please encourage those colleagues who aren’t members of your union to join via this link: usu.org.au/join or by completing the attached membership form.

If you have any questions about this email, please contact USU organisers Troy Dunne on 0419 403 076 / tdunne@usu.org.au or Paul Sansom on 0409 076 633 / psansom@usu.org.au
