City of Parramatta Operational members are in the process of negotiating a 9-day fortnight. Both Council and Union members have agreed in principle to negotiate a 9-day fortnight compressed hours arrangement.
Members have shown great resilience and unity while advocating for a 9-day fortnight at Parramatta. They see it as a way to promote work-life balance, increase flexibility, support health and well-being, and allow for more time with family.
Parramatta stands out as one of the few Sydney Metropolitan Councils yet to adopt the 9-day fortnight or a similar model. The ongoing negotiations are focused on hours of work, with a goal to finalise the arrangement by the end of 2024.
