On May 8 the battle to have Senior Staff contracts removed below the General Manager level at all councils across NSW was finally won with NSW Minister for Industrial Relations Sophie Cotsis introducing the Bill to Parliament that places all senior staff back onto the Local Government State Award.
This has been a long campaign by the industry unions and will now give all senior staff protections from unfair dismissal in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.
USU General Secretary Graeme Kelly OAM: “The United Services Union pays tribute to Minister Cotsis placing senior staff back into the award that will provide them with conditions of employment and access to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.”
