As you are aware council has made the shameful decision to sell Bluehaven Care after 40 years of service to the community. The union is here for our members and while we oppose this decision to sell the service our number one priority is our members and maintaining the employment with council wherever possible, and secondly to ensure conditions of employment are protected.

The sale of this service has a greater impact on the broader community with residents fighting to keep the council free from amalgamation and Bluehaven being one of the key features that residents sought to maintain with council.
This is a blow to the Kiama community and the hard working workforce who have made Bluehaven one of the favoured age care services in our region.

We will be seeking urgent meetings with Council’s Executive to do whatever we can to support our members. We are here by your side to ensure we can defend your rights at work. We need to hear from our members – please reach out by calling your Organiser Mr Aarron Vann at 0419626330 or our support team at 1300 136 604. If you are not a member we encourage you to join by filling the form on the back, by calling 1300 136 604 or online at usu.org.au
