The USU thanks and congratulates all members at Liverpool City Council. The win against proposed job cuts at the council meeting of 12 May is a direct result of your action. We thank the ALP Councillors and the independents for their support.

Members rallied together and supported one another across Council to save approximately 140 jobs. Thanks to member action, Council has backflipped and passed a motion not to cut jobs, but to increase employee costs by 7.25% to $114.5 million and fill 26 vacant positions.

This is an enormous win and members should feel proud for standing up to protect themselves and their colleagues.
