Please see below correspondence sent on Friday 8 March on behalf of the combined unions relating to the Alcohol & other Drugs Policy proposal.

USU officials & delegates have come to be aware of rumours that the combined unions have agreed to Endeavour’s proposal and that the policy will take effect from July – these rumours are false. For the avoidance of any doubt, the position of the combined unions remains as per previous bulletins relating to this matter.

We note Endeavour Energy’s response at page 3 of the attached letter under the Heading – Dispute, and advise we are at issue with your interpretation of; “It is therefore not accepted that there is any basis for a dispute between Endeavour Energy and its employees….” The “Combined Unions (ETU, AP & USU)” put Endeavour Energy on notice of dispute, in relation to this issue, at the meeting of 14th February 2019, whether Endeavour Energy accepts this or not is irrelevant.

This is the Unions’ right on behalf of our members we represent.

Furthermore, it is disappointing that Endeavour Energy has rejected the Unions’ request to deal with this important issue in a sensible, transparent and collective manner with the assistance of the Fair Work Commission through a “New Approach” matter.

In relation to Endeavour Energy making its decision on or about the 15th March 2019, please be advised this issue remains in dispute and the Combined Unions, on behalf of our members, reserve our rights to escalate this issue post the date of the decision, if required.
