Local Government (State) Award Update 5: HOURS OF WORK
LGNSW is attempting to remove 35 hour per week work arrangements from the new Award. This would mean that all full time employees currently working 35 hours per week would have to work an extra 3 hours a week for no extra pay!
Maurice Blackburn: A resounding YES to our EBA
The votes are in and we are pleased to confirm that Maurice Blackburn and Zabulon staff have emphatically endorsed the EBA. 97% of those who voted, voted in favour of endorsing the agreement.

Emirates thinks you’re paid too much!
Last Monday and Tuesday (24th & 25th October) the EBA bargaining team held further negotiations with company representatives.
Local Government (State) Award Update 4: protecting penalty rates
The Employers’ Association is seeking to remove weekend penalty rates which would mean that those workers employed in positions that require weekend work miss out on time with friends and family for no extra benefit.
Maurice Blackburn: Time to sign off on the EBA
After an exhaustive drafting process your National Negotiating Team intend to hold meetings of members this week to discuss the final version of our new EBA which we will recommend should be endorsed by USU/ASU members and should go out formally to all staff on 24th October 2016.
Emirates EA 2016 – Report Back
The USU/ASU, ALAEA and Individual Bargaining Representatives met as a Bargaining Committee with Emirates on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th October, to continue negotiations for the next Emirates Agreement.
