9 Day Fortnight and 35 hour week implemented!
The Union has been notified by Council of the approval and implementation from July 1 of the 9 day fortnight and 35 hour week.
The Union wishes to congratulate members for their persistence in highlighting this to Council as an ongoing matter over many, many years.
It is only though the perseverance of members that Council saw this as a matter of real importance.
The Union also wishes to congratulate Council on taking the step to implement the 35 hour week and remedy a long standing inequity.
The implementation of the 9 day fortnight and 35 hour week is a reminder of the power of united workers speaking with one voice. As always, encourage your colleagues to join their union and be part of a positive movement at Council.
