Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the subsequent Public Health Orders and Restrictions placed on outdoor gatherings, the Union has been left with no other alternative than to conduct the Local Government (State) Award 2020 vote by postal vote.

POSTAL VOTE
This is not how the Union ever intended to conduct its Award voting, however we want every member to have a say. Since the 1995 Award our Award votes have been by Mass Meetings following an explanation given by your USU Organiser about the Award changes and then a vote was conducted. A postal vote means you will still have a say.

TO ENSURE YOU CAN VOTE WE NEED YOUR DETAILS
To ensure that we have your correct postal information and that your vote counts for the 2020 Award, we want to confirm your postal address with you. This can be done in a number of ways:

  1. Ringing the USU Support Team on 1300 136 604
  2. Emailing the Union at united@usu.org.au (ensure your member number is clearly included)
  3. Update securely online at https://usu.org.au/update-my-details/
  4. Contacting your Local Delegate or Organiser.

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR DETAILS BY JUNE 1ST
We ask that this is completed before June 1st to ensure that we have enough time to send out your paperwork to you.

ONLY FINANCIAL UNION MEMBERS GET A VOTE
Only current financial members of the Union can vote on the 2020 Award.

Know of any non-members who want to vote? They will need to join soon before the postal ballots are mailed out.
