The USU/ASU is urgently seeking answers from aviation employers about the impact of the Brisbane lock down on USU/ASU members. We hope to be able to provide an update on any impact on stand ups and rostering as soon as possible.
This new lock down comes just one day after the end of Jobkeeper. Members will be worried at the prospect of being stood down without income support.
The Federal Government must act urgently to support airlines workers. This means extending the income support payments for international employees to all aviation workers, including domestic and corporate staff who remain stood down.
Go to https://keepaustraliaflying.com/ to sign our petition calling on the government to protect aviation workers.
This is a difficult time, do not hesitate to seek assistance if you need it. Organisations like Lifeline 131114 or Beyond Blue 1300 224 636 are available if needed.
Send this bulletin to anyone you know who isn’t in the USU. They can join at www.usu.org.au/join.
