The USU has been in dispute with Upper Lachlan Shire Council over their restructure plans that threaten jobs, wages and conditions at Council.
The dispute escalated when members walked off the job at 8am this morning following Council’s poor response to USU concerns about the restructure.
Following the walkout the USU met with Council management who verbally advised they would freeze and potentially cease the planned restructure protecting a number of our members’ jobs and wages.
Members returned to work following the verbal commitment to freeze and potentially cease the planned restructure, however are awaiting written confirmation before considering further action.
The dispute will be heard next week in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.
