A member of the NSW Clerical & Admin branch, Melinda is known across all USU membership because she has travelled all over the state of NSW to help thousands of members with their superannuation through her role at Vision Super (formerly Active Super).
Throughout the Vision Super and Active Super merger Melinda was an enormous support to our members.
In her workplace delegate role, Melinda grew union membership from 4 to 27 in just one year.
As requested by the USU Women’s Committee, this Award was re-named to honour the memory our little piece of dynamite, Sinead Francis Coan, for this year only.
Brought together by their shared sense of social justice, Melinda and Sinead worked together in their local communities to fight for the environment, demonstrate their union values, support for women’s rights and gender equity.
Given their bond, we felt it fitting to award Melinda the Sinead Francis Coan award.
Thank you, Melinda (and Sinead), for everything you do for women, the union movement and your communities.
