USU/ASU officials have sought an urgent meeting with Virgin about their plans to send out an EOI to Cabin Crew for work in Guest Services.

The USU/ASU believes that any such EOI will cause unnecessary distress to USU/ASU members who are waiting for advice from Virgin about when the Company can get back to rostering workable hours each week.

We have been meeting with Virgin regularly to raise your issues with unworkable roster patterns, unpredictable hours of work, ability to opt out of rosters, as well as recognition of Job Share and Flexible Work Arrangements.

Consultation meetings

It’s your work and Virgin must explain the proposal to us before circulating it.

Virgin are already on notice from us about not meeting their commitments to you around resourcing during the pandemic.

Given that the USU/ASU is in regular consultation with Virgin and they have never put their latest proposal on the table to us, it is only fair that they meet now to explain themselves and work through solutions that put the interests of USU/ASU members first.

We will update you again when we know more.

Time to join the union!
