As the year races to an end it is a great time to remind members that Picnic Day 2019 is just around the corner! Picnic Day 2019 will be held at Taronga Park Zoo on Friday 8th March 2019 and if you are a USU member working in Local Government* it is a PUBLIC HOLIDAY for members.
It is such a great day and we do not want anyone to miss out!
All financial metro members of the USU are entitled to Union Picnic Day off work with pay*. On top of that, members and their families can attend Taronga Park Zoo on the day for FREE!

* In January 2019 financial members who pay “Picnic Day Rates” will be sent a Picnic Day ticket. Whether you are entitled to a paid day off depends on your Award or Agreement. All USU Metro financial members who work in the Clerical and Private Sector Industry, Energy Industry or Airlines Industry should check your Enterprise Agreement or ring the USU to see whether you are entitled to a Union Picnic Day off work with pay. If so, members and their families can attend Taronga Park Zoo on the day for free. If your Award or Agreement does not include Union Picnic Day off work with pay you are still entitled to attend on 8th March if you pay Union Picnic Day rates, however you will need to make alternate leave arrangements.
