The USU Negotiation Team, consisting of USU workplace delegates and officials, has recently commenced meetings with Council to negotiate the contents of the 2024-2027 City of Sydney Award.
The initial series of 5 meetings has kicked off, with 3 meetings already complete.
Strengthened by the solidarity and voices of our members, the USU team has been actively negotiating the log of claims as well as additional items raised throughout the meetings.
Some of these items include:
- Pay increase of 5% each year for 3 years
- Performance Bonus for Members ‘topped out’
- Hours of Work which realises a 35-hour week and a 9-day fortnight
- No change to hours of work (spread of hours/7-day rostering, etc.)
- Amendment to Shift allowance definition to provide access to allowances by more shift workers
- Some increases for various leave provision
The USU negotiation teams continues to work diligently on behalf of members to ensure positive outcomes are achieved. In unity we advocate for fair pay, better working conditions, and enhancements to leave provisions. This is the power of coming together under the banner of the union.
The negotiation team is made up of USU delegates, along with USU Organiser Peter Cole and USU Industrial Officer Bill O’Kell.
