  • Salary Range $139,670.36 to $189,554.81

The United Services Union represents workers across New South Wales in Local Government, Energy & Utilities, Airlines and Clerical and Administrative workers in the Private Sector. This position is responsible for the management and on-going viability and growth of the Union’s Energy & Utilities, Airlines and Private Sector division. You will work under the direction of the General Secretary.

USU employees work a thirty-five-hour week and enjoy a nine-day fortnight but due to the nature of the position a flexible approach to working hours is an essential requirement. The USU offers attractive conditions of employment.

Applicants must possess the following skills:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualification in Management, Industrial Relation or similar, coupled with contemporary experience in a similar role; or substantial experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development.
  • Contemporary experience managing campaigns, including digital, hybrid, and on-site workplace campaigns.
  • Contemporary experience in conciliation and arbitration in the Industrial Relations Commission, supported by extensive knowledge of awards and industrial relations legislation including the State and Federal jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability in the management of resources, including human, financial and administrative.
  • Contemporary and extensive knowledge of digital engagement, communication, and recruitment tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to adapt to a variety of forums, including preparation of correspondence, reports, and marketing material.
  • Digital literacy encompassing Microsoft Office stack and digital collaboration and conferencing tools to support and manage a dispersed workforce.
  • In-depth understanding of the Union’s structure, rules, and influences, including internal and external forces.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and develop strategies within the political and social context in which the Union operates.
  • Class C driver’s licence

Applicants will require initiative, experience and commitment to customer service, be able to identify problems; and have the ability to handle inquiries with professionalism and efficacy.
