We are deeply saddened to announce James Taylor, Central West branch President, active delegate and long-term member of the United Services Union passed away on Sunday 21 July.
James joined us in 2008 and was soon elected Vice President of our Central West branch. James then became President, a position he held for several years.
Working for Lachlan Shire Council as a Tally Clerk, James was a strong advocate and support to his fellow members.
James was instrumental in the establishment of the Lachlan Shire Council Enterprise Agreement which to this day provides some of the highest pay rates and working conditions for workers in the Central West region.
USU Organiser for the Central West region, Shane Reece, said James will be fondly remembered for his cheeky nature, ability to resolve issues locally and build strong relationships with council management.
James was a beloved father, partner, Pop and friend.
He will be greatly missed by many but never forgotten.
