Cumberland City Council offers staff who cannot work from home up to five (5) additional days of flexibility leave.

Staff who are employed on a full-time or part-time basis and are in roles that are not eligible  to work from home or staff whose position is eligible to work from home but opts not to work from home, will be eligible to take up to five (5) paid Flexibility Leave days per calendar year.

These five (5) days are prorated for part time staff depending on the days per week worked in each employment arrangement.

This is an offering that the Executive Team at Cumberland City Council have decided to offer its workforce to compensate staff who do not receive the flexibility and savings that staff receive when working from home.

This flexibility leave has also assisted Council attract job applicants in a tight labour market and retain its current employees.

The United Services Union supports Cumberland City Council in its efforts to compensate staff who cannot or choose not to work from home. The union will continue to support and work with Cumberland City Council to provide new and innovative offerings that benefit both staff and Council.
