The USU congratulates Daniel Bertossa, the newly elected General Secretary of Public Services International (PSI) – the global union federation of workers in public services.
Daniel is an ASU member and former ASU official of our South Australian Branch.
The USU is very proud of Daniel’s election and strongly supported his nomination at the PSI Congress in Geneva.
USU General Secretary Graeme Kelly OAM and President Sharon Sewell said Danny’s appointment to the Global Union PSI is welcomed and fully supported by the USU.
“I held discussions with Danny leading up to his election. Danny understands the issues facing USU members,” said Graeme.
“Danny reassures members across our sectors that our PSI affiliation is integral to the ongoing programs of public sector workers around the world.”
Danny also recognises the contributions that the USU make within the Oceania Region and further at a global level organising to ensure a better work life balance for Union members.
The United Services Union looks forward to working with Danny over the next five years.
