Max Dawson, of Wollongong City Council has won Delegate of the Year for 2024.

Working tirelessly to support members at Wollongong City Council and beyond, Max is a long term USU member and workplace delegate. Winner of the 2019 State-Wide Recruiter of Year Award, Max has most recently joined the USU Women’s Committee.

Max became a delegate for a lot of reasons but her motivation to help everyone is her biggest driver – ‘I’m a big believer in having a voice and I believe in helping others whose voices might not be so loud’.

Since becoming a delegate, Max has been involved in multiple Enterprise Agreement negotiations, including the most recent one, which happened this year.

EA negotiations are a huge time commitment at the best of times, yet Max still found time to lead the Escabags Donation Drive, alongside her fellow workplace delegate, Narelle Constable.

Another huge commitment Max signs up for every year is organising Wollongong Council’s Annual Picnic Day, alongside fellow delegates Tim Manning and Narelle Constable.

Congratulations Max and thank you for all your hard work!
