Now we’re all back, the Services are open, and we’ve settled in, it’s time to get things sorted.
CHECK YOUR QUALS AND CERTS!
Don’t rely on your employer. It’s time to check if your First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, accreditation or other qualifications expire this year.
Make sure you’re up to date.
LOOKING TO UP-SKILL?
In some instances, your employer may assist with support for your training. Your Council may offer traineeships, time off for study, mentorships, or even financial assistance.
Check your Council’s policies.
PUT A PLAN IN PLACE
Speak with your Service Director, Coordinator or HR about organising any training or courses you need. If you do it now, it can be incorporated into your Service’s plan for the year.
It’s your job, so it’s up to you to check you’re appropriately qualified.
If you have any questions contact your delegate, local organiser, or Sue Kealy USU’s Childcare Organiser at skealy@usu.org.au or 1300 136 604.
