Your Union has read the economic statement and the GM’s email. We’ve even listened to the Mayor, Councillor Christo on the radio (alive90.5, 5 August)

You may remember that in February we were ‘scolded’ for saying Council was looking to outsource Childcare. We even had a meeting with the GM who said we were wrong and it wasn’t going to happen.

YET – less than 6 months later, Council is now doing exactly that. AND MORE.

Outsourcing Childcare, the Pools, the Seniors’ Units and the Holroyd Centre, and close a Golf Course IS NOT GOING TO GET BACK THE $13million DEBT (Cllr Christo 5 August 2020)

Councillor Christo also said ‘staff layoffs have been very, very minimal’ (Cllr Christo 5 August 2020).

LAYOFFS ARE MINIMAL FOR NOW MR MAYOR.

YOUR CURRENT PLANS AFFECT 200 STAFF IN CHILDCARE ALONE.
