Following announcements made by Mr McLachlan on Monday 24 August regarding the future of AFL, the ASU will be hosting a second information session for USU/ASU members and non-members interested in joining.
The session will commence at 6.15pm on Wednesday 26 August. You are invited to register your interest here and details to join will be sent to you on the day of the session.
Whilst the AFL is yet to formally notify the USU/ASU of its intention to make significant major workplace change, the USU understands that today’s announcement is a BIG one. We wrote to the AFL on this specific matter last week and expect a response by close of business this Wednesday.
We have been advised that as employees you can expect to see:
- 20% downturn in revenue
- 20% reduction of overall workforce
- 50% of roles are impacted
- Only one executive position has been ‘lost’- with a further position being ‘removed’ from the executive
- COVID forced the AFL into this positions
We remind you that you are entitled to have a support person of your choosing, and as a members of the USU this support person can be any of the USU Team, Emily Callachor, Troy Dunne and/or Pierce Field.
