The USU/ASU contacted Virgin for an update on the impact of the Brisbane lock down this week who have confirmed there will be no material changes to Guest Services rostering at any port.
Key Points
The key points are, as follows:
- A number of flights to/from BNE in the next 48 hours have been cancelled.
- Resourcing requirements from the Easter weekend are still required at this stage.
- No rostering changes have been made as a result of cancellations but it is possible these will be short term changes
- BNE team members who were previously denied annual leave this week have been contacted to confirm leave will be granted now if they would like to take it.
While Virgin continues to monitor the situation, we expect to be updated again If the lock down continues and further border closures lead to longer term schedule changes. We will get updated information to you if this happens.
If stand down arrangements are needed as a result of a longer term impact that becomes known later this week, Virgin will implement the process agreed with the USU/ASU in February 2021 for stand down following a lockdown/border closure. Under this process a 3-day notice period to make roster changes is required.
