Your union officials and delegates along with workplace representatives continue to attend and keep informed via consultation, of Ausgrid’s We’re Making Moves. We write to advise of the following points of discussion. Particularly we have noted core questions and answers issued across the business and Ausgrid has provided example of their time and travel for affected employees.

The Union does note the Ausgrid language across meetings and communications in relation to “Public transport & Cycle to work” clearly indicate they are misreading the room.

Key Q&A Issues of Note: (Again these are issued responses from Ausgrid)
Q: Does the 12 months parking start from when everyone moves or when certain people move?
A: Our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to the 12 months of transitional parking. We are currently finalising the start date plans for HQN and will share more information with you as soon as possible.

Q: When will there be communications about the parking / payment?
A: We are working through what this nomination process looks like and will share more information with you as soon as possible.

Q: How many parking spaces are available at HQN?
A: 42 Honeysuckle Drive: 76 car spaces 854 Hunter Street: 130 car spaces, 8 motorcycle spaces

Q: Will the majority of parking be taken up with fleet vehicles?
A: Our fleet vehicles serve the crucial purpose of facilitating our employees to be out in the field, ensuring efficient operations and service delivery. While there will be a designated area for fleet vehicles, we don’t anticipate congestion due to a large number of fleet vehicles being parked in the lot during business hours.

Q: Within the EBA for travel – if the distance is further than your current location to the new location, will I be entitled to excess travel?
A: If there is an increase in travel time and/or distance, you may be entitled to excess travel. We’ll provide an example of what this calculation could look like in the next consultation briefing. Additionally, you may be able to claim your transport fares. It’s important to note that excess travel is applicable for 6 months. Please remember that the EBA is currently in bargaining.
