USU Delegates and officials returned to the IRC on Tuesday 4th March for another conciliation session with the Ministry of Health on the new Emergency Call Takers Award.

With the assistance of the commissioner both parties engaged in meaningful exchanges and offers were made by both sides to make the award. After nearly 2 hours of negotiations a final offer was tabled by your Union that the Ministry has agreed to now cost and seek advice from government on whether they are able to accept.

If we are not able to get to a consent position the matter is still set down for arbitration before the full bench in April.
