Over the past two years we have been rocked by devastating bushfires, a pandemic and now many members and their families have lost their homes following the catastrophic floods in the Northern Rivers.

Throughout this devastation our members have continued to contribute on the frontline.

Yesterday Shadow Minister for National Reconstruction, Employment, Skills and Small Business Richard Marles was in Lismore and thanked Council workers and USU members for their hard work throughout the crisis.

“All the members of the United Services Union have done an unbelievable job and what you have done demonstrates the Australian spirit at its best.”

I join with Richard Marles in paying tribute to our members for their amazing work in the face of such adversity.

On behalf of the Executive of the United Services Union I thank members for their contribution now and into the future.

Our thoughts are with our members who have lost homes and other property.
