From March 18th, depot workers at Burwood Council have enjoyed the transition to a 9-day fortnight, replacing the previous cycle of 1 rostered day off every 19 days.
By standing together, they achieved a schedule that better balances work and life.
“We finally got close to 100% of members on board so we were united and in a powerful position to negotiate the 9-day fortnight”, shared USU Delegate Luka Tica.
“We had a strong case supporting what we wanted and convinced Council to work with us to achieve a great outcome for workers and Council”, said USU Delegate Mitchel Byrne.
