The COVID-19 health crisis required us all to dramatically change our work and home lives.
To try and provide some certainty to our members employed in Local Government in these uncertain times, the USU along with the other Local Government industry unions and the Employer’s Association LGNSW negotiated the Local Government (COVID-19) Splinter Award 2020.

What is a Splinter Award?
It is an Award which operates in addition to the Local Government (State) Award 2020 and to any registered Enterprise Agreements that you work under. A full copy of the Award can be downloaded here.
It is designed to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 health crisis on Local Government workplaces.
