Last Friday we celebrated USU Metro Picnic Day at Taronga Zoo. It was a great day and the sun was shining. Thanks to all of our amazing members who came along and joined in the fun! The spirit of the USU was truly felt on Friday around the zoo!

Staff from Campbelltown City Council are urging the council to follow the lead of other local government areas by providing paid leave for victims of domestic violence to attend medical and legal appointments, find alternate accommodation, and help settle children into new schools.

The USU wrote to every NSW Council seeking support in adopting a Paid Domestic Leave Policy that allows workers who need it to access up to ten days paid domestic violence leave. The Mayor of Campbelltown City Council has not yet responded with his position on this matter.
