Today the USU/ASU received the wonderful news that the Fair Work Commission has approved the Qantas ASU EBA!
This means all the pay and conditions employees won during bargaining will come into operation in 7 days, on 16 May.
Furthermore, it means that Qantas, per their Qantas Bonus FAQs, will now pay the $5,000 bonus to all staff within 6 weeks of 16 May (so sometime between 16 May and 20 June) – just in time for the End of the Financial Year.
These hard-won conditions were only possible thanks to the hundreds of strong, passionate and active USU/ASU members campaigning for a new EBA. Incredibly, we look to be back at the negotiating table as early as Christmas next year, so now the campaign begins again for improvements to outstanding issues such as Nil 48 payments!
