After 10 plus years of employment at a local Newcastle regional Council, a USU member is very grateful after the Organiser, Danielle Kelly, was able to negotiate an ex-gratia payment in excess of $50,000 to be done through a Deed of Release.
Our member was extremely happy with the assistance of the USU over the past few years whilst experiencing alleged bullying and harassment in their workplace.
Council had recognised the difficulties faced by our member in returning to their workplace and contacted the Organiser to discuss concerns about their wellbeing and to commence possible negotiations if the member was interested.
Our member is extremely happy with this outcome, which will now ensure some financial stability while they look for future employment.
Our member’s identity and the Council they were employed at must remain anonymous due to a Deed of Release being signed for this matter.
