The Union has seen some fantastic growth across Slater & Gordon offices since the 2024-25 EBA campaign.
During this campaign, two new delegates came on board for us: Rebecca Kolman at the Penrith Office, and Chelsea Page at the Newcastle Office.
Together with our existing delegates team of El Leverington in Sydney, and Lachlan McGregor in Canberra, these delegates have worked tirelessly to grow the USU’s presence in their respective offices and ensure that our members are represented in meetings with fellow ASU delegates and representatives from across the country.
Through Rebecca’s efforts in Penrith, we have grown that site from having one member at the start of 2024, to 10 in 2025 with continuing growth.
Newcastle, through the work of our previous delegate Mia Parkes (who has since left the firm but has remained a USU member in her new workplace), and now through Chelsea has seen similar growth, from one member in 2024 to six in 2025, in what is a small office for the firm.
We have also seen growth in the Wollongong Office thanks to our Canberra delegate Lachlan, with members joining for the first time.
Through the hard work of these delegates in bargaining with their ASU colleagues from across the country, members received a 4% pay increase in this year’s EBA, with a further 3.75% and 3.5% coming later this year and in 2026 respectively; along with new reproductive health leave entitlements, an increase of parental leave to 26 weeks and leave to cover pregnancy loss, 5 days service leave, and an increase of the wellbeing allowance.
Our members in legal assistant roles also received additional wage increases through updates to their classification.
The USU’s delegates played an active and important role in achieving these outcomes, and continue to work tirelessly representing members in their sites at a national level through consultation processes with the firm.
