Organiser (Local Government) – Metropolitan

The USU is seeking to employ a highly motivated and experienced Organiser within the Local Government Division. Position is based in the Sydney Office. 

The position requires an individual that can “hit the ground running” to attend to the needs of the membership within the Local Government Area of the Union.

    •    Salary will be in accordance with the Union’s skills based salary remuneration policy
    •    10% super
    •    9 day fortnight
    •    Vehicle provided (conditions apply)
    •    Health and fitness allowance

    •    5 additional leave days per annum including Union Picnic Day

Skills and experience required, include (for full description please see Position Description):
    •    Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve industrial conflict
    •    Extensive knowledge of awards, industrial relations legislation and the Fair Work Act
    •    Demonstrated commitment to the principles of trade unionism and the labour movement
    •    Has completed Union Delegates Training course and/or tertiary qualifications in industrial relations or human resource management
    •    Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills,
    •    Computer literate
    •    RTA class C drivers licence
    •    Ability to undertake (when required) regional travel
